Scenarist

The Barnhart Concise Dictionary of Etymology defines scenario as a noun.  Dating back to 1878 - borrowing the Italian word for scenario stemmed from scena meaning scene and from Latin scaena, scena - scene.

The outline of an imagined situation or chain of events was first recorded in 1962 and the writer of these scenarios is given the name of a scenarist.  Scenarist however dates back as far as 1920 and was formed from the English words scenario + ist.
